This project was part of a series of UX design courses I participated in, taught by Google designers during the pandemic.
My challenge was to create a product that would introduce galleryLevi artists to the public in a way that engages new users, but I also wanted it to give access to people unable to explore the gallery or attend artists openings due to distance or ability but why stop there? A studio visit is the holy grail for an art collector and rarely often happens.
Artists are the unique personalities and stories that give their creations a personal connection to the collector. I wanted to bring the user into the artists studio to see the atmosphere that each artists creates in, the music they listen to, what pencil sketches are on the wall, and all paintings in various stages of completion.
A physical studio visit creates that unique and personal connection for the collector and I believe that offering a virtual studio tour would do the same, only for more people and with the addd benefit of not interrupting the artists space or creative flow.

Virtual reality and 3d technologies as a solution
I chose to integrate virtual reality and 3d technologies to enhance insights to the creative process, introduce galleryLevi to a new generation of potential collectors, and provide real time access to purchase fine art at gallery openings and other events.
The app will also be able to virtually place artwork anywhere in the client's home with requested camera and goggles from the gallery.
These technologies will dramatically increase the perception of the quality of the artwork and how it feels in the clients home before going out on approval therefore reducing the cost of returns.

Splash page and navigation
The hero element at the top of the splash page can be changed for specific shows or seasonal themes, can remain static or have animations applied to it depending on the current show or seasonal holiday.
A comprehensive slide menu is always available on the top left of the interface, with the five most used icons of the individual user available at the footer. The navigation was designed to be intuitive, educational and streamlined to encourage exploration of the app.

Search pages
The search element was divided into two separate pages, one with a visual and title search and the second by artist image and name.
There is prominent a slider for easy scroll browsing.

Featured artist
The artists pages have four components; a show page, a complete catalog of artwork with real time availability, a biography and studio page. There are links to the artists music playlists, their favorite recipes, a recommended book list, and a link to a VR/3D studio experience.

Acquisition, tracking
and showcase pages
There is an option on the confirmation page to put a 24 hour hold on a piece before proceeding with the purchase. At the point of acquisition the painting appears in the showcase window which also archives all gallery purchases for display.
Tracking is done real time and all paintings are shipped with air tags for specific location.

Collector mentorships
local suggestions
and calendar
A collector mentorship program is a natural way of passing on legacy collecting skills from one generation to another. That would additionally create a community that would eventually extend the reach of the gallery beyond traditional marketing means.
The local suggestions highlights partnerships of reciprocal promotion with restaurants and clubs.
